We made the off-switch we couldn't find
The world got loud. Screens that never dim, feeds that never end, notifications stacked on top of the day until there was no quiet edge left to it. Most evenings don't end anymore. They fade out somewhere between one more scroll and a phone face-down on the chest.
Scratchlight started from a simple wish: a way to stop. Not another app promising calm, not a tracker counting your rest. Something you hold in your hands. Something with no screen, no battery, no feed, that asks for nothing but your attention and gives you a quiet hour back in return.
So we made one. A matte-black card, a wooden stylus, and a city waiting underneath the dark. We called it Scratchlight because that's the whole ritual in a word: you scratch, and there is light.
WHAT WE MAKE
Hands busy. Mind quiet.
Each kit is a single sheet of black that hides a glowing skyline beneath it. You scratch, slowly, and the line of a rooftop or a river or a famous bridge surfaces under your hand. There is no rush built into it, just long enough for your shoulders to drop and your thoughts to loosen.
A slow ritual
Repetitive, gentle, absorbing. The kind of small focused task that lets a busy head go still, the way some people find in knitting, or sketching, or washing the dishes by hand.
Proof you stopped
A finished, glowing city is something you can hold up at the end. Not minutes saved or a streak kept, but an actual thing you made with your hands while the phone stayed in the other room.

Every kit comes with the scratch card, a wooden stylus, a free blank canvas to design something of your own, and simple instructions. We make them to order and ship them tracked to homes across the US and UK.

We made it to be picked up by an eight-year-old or an eighty-year-old, because the wish to slow down doesn't have an age.
